September, 2023 – In line with the Egyptian government’s commitment to digital transformation and financial inclusion within the industrial sector, and in alignment with Egypt’s Vision 2030, eAswaaq Misr has signed a Cooperation Protocol with the Industrial Modernization Center aiming to promote exports and bolster the industrial landscape.
eAswaaq Misr is the organization entrusted with the launch of the B2B Market platform, as Egypt’s first national e-commerce platform tailored for factories and companies, digitizing industrial operations and stimulating the industrial sector. The platform seeks to generate new export opportunities, enhance the efficiency of local supply chains, and increase the value-added contribution to Egypt’s industrial sector, all in line with the National Program for Structural Reforms aimed at achieving sustainable economic growth in Egypt.
The protocol was signed by Mr. Mahmoud Osman, Head of E-commerce- Trade and Industry at eAswaaq Misr, and Mrs. Doaa Salima, Executive Director of the Industrial Modernization Center, alongside other dignitaries from both entities.
Mrs. Doaa Salima, Executive Director of the Center, highlighted that “the primary objective of this protocol is to synergize the Center’s efforts with eAswaaq Misr to attain the platform’s mission to localize the domestic industry through B2B transactions and maximize Egyptian exports. It also aims to transform marketing channels into digital avenues, aligning with the Egyptian government’s strategic vision for digital transformation and financial inclusion within the industrial sector”. She further explained that “the electronic market will be unveiled to showcase and distribute Egyptian products, spanning both finished goods and industrial production inputs for both export and the domestic market. This will be achieved by enlisting factories on the platform and offering a comprehensive “online catalog” for all products, with integrated electronic payment options and product delivery services”.
Mahmoud Osman commented “This fruitful collaboration marks a significant stride towards providing a suite of comprehensive services to the industrial sector. These services include registering factories, showcasing industrial products, managing production inputs and requirements, order tracking, sales, payment processing, settlements, and product delivery. These efforts aim to streamline electronic communication between sellers and buyers, both locally and internationally, while also promoting the products of participating factories. Ultimately, the goal is to enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian products, fortify domestic manufacturing, and stimulate local industries by opening new avenues for export opportunities.”
